Position Summary
The Logistics Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics functions, including warehousing, inventory control, transportation, and distribution operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished goods, optimizing logistics systems, and maintaining accurate inventory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics or supply chain management, proven leadership skills, and experience implementing process improvements that drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage all daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, warehouse organization, and distribution activities.
- Lead and develop warehouse and logistics teams to ensure performance, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee transportation planning, carrier selection, and freight cost management to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and quality teams to align logistics strategies with business needs.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement systems and procedures for efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of products.
- Analyze supply chain and logistics performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Implement logistics automation, MRP, and ERP optimization projects to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Evaluate and enhance inventory management practices to reduce waste, expired goods, and loss.
Inventory Control
- Monitor all inventory transactions and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Manage expiring, damaged, or non-compliant inventory to minimize financial loss.
- Ensure accurate documentation and alignment between ERP systems and physical inventory.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and food safety regulations, reporting any deviations to appropriate managers.
- Support BRC and quality system integrity by adhering to established procedures and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Participate in mandatory safety, food safety, and quality training programs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- MRP/ERP experience required (SAP or similar system preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to change.
