The Tractor Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating tractors and various attachments to support landscape maintenance, installation, and property improvement projects. This position requires attention to safety, equipment care, and the ability to work effectively in outdoor environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate tractors and various attachments, including mowers, trailers, and other equipment as needed.

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and identify any issues that may affect safe operation.

  • Check fluid levels, grease equipment, and perform routine preventative maintenance.

  • Perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.

  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Report equipment damage, safety hazards, or mechanical issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of daily tasks, equipment hours, and routine maintenance.

  • Keep equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained.

  • Assist with other landscape maintenance and operational duties as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience operating tractors or similar heavy equipment preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to safely operate and maneuver heavy equipment in various work environments.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb onto and off of machinery safely.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing job duties.

  • Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, cold, rain, dust, and other weather conditions.

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot common equipment issues.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with team members.
