About the Position...
The Underwriter III – Sr. Team Lead serves as a senior member of Underwriting Team. The individual assuming this position will serve as a primary resource to the Underwriters, Credit Analysts and Lenders regarding the Bank’s loan products, loan structuring, financial analysis and general underwriting questions. This position will also be responsible for direct support to Credit Administrator(s) throughout the organization by ensuring that the processes and procedures of each designated underwriter(s) maintain high quality of performance in underwriting production, portfolio monitoring, follow up on maturities, and identifying credit weaknesses. This role includes prescreening junior underwriters’ assignments before submission, supports Lenders, and coordinates with Underwriters to follow up during audit/exam. This position will take on and support the more complicated loan requests. These include, but are not limited to: large commercial real estate loans; formula based lines of credit; term loans; lines of credit; letters of credit; HLTs and syndicated credits. In addition to evaluating the loan applications, the incumbent assists in completing credit analysis; monitoring loan disbursements and compliance with loan terms; and setting up systems, products and services associated with the lending functions of United Business Bank. The incumbent completes financial analysis and develops credit presentations for new loans, renewals, annual reviews and covenant monitoring. The Underwriter III – Sr. Team Lead interacts with Client Relationship Managers to discuss credit requests, obtain and evaluate appropriate information relative to the request. The incumbent assists the Client Relationship Managers in determining loan structure, and makes credit presentations to the loan committee in the absence of the Client Relationship Managers. This position may also serve as a mentor for more junior staff members. The Underwriter III – Sr. Team Lead is responsible for preparing Credit Authorizations (CA’s) to be presented for approval to the Credit Administrator, Director of Credit Administration, Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and/or Loan Committee on new loans, renewals and modifications. This process entails evaluating loan applications, spreading of tax returns and financial statements, evaluating credit reports, evaluating appraisals, and determining and making recommendations on the loan structure for a variety of Commercial and Industrial (C&I), Small Business Administration (SBA), Agriculture (Ag), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Construction and Consumer loans. This position is also responsible for completing CRE Annual Reviews and ongoing loan covenant monitoring for the existing loan portfolio. In addition, performs all duties accurately, timely and efficiently, and according to Bank policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. They will also assist the Director of Credit Administration with other duties assigned.

Education/Certification: Bachelors Degree in Math, Business or related field or equivalent applicable years of experience, required.
Required Knowledge: Knowledge of banking and lending operations and procedures, as well as, the various regulations and standard banking practices.
Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years' experience in the lending area of a financial institution.

Compensation
Hiring Salary Range: $130,000 to $150,000.
This compensation information is United Business Bank's good-faith estimate and is provided pursuant to Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
