Are you passionate about helping individuals reach their fullest potential? Do you have experience in behavioral assessment, treatment planning, and staff development? If so, UCP Long Island is looking for a dedicated Behavior Specialist to join our Residential Services team.

Make an Impact Every Day

As a Behavior Specialist, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed psychologist to assess needs, develop individualized behavioral support plans, train staff, and help individuals achieve meaningful personal goals.

What You'll Do

✅ Conduct behavioral assessments and psychological testing

✅ Develop individualized behavior support plans that promote:

Self-direction
Emotional well-being
Skill development
Independence and community participation

✅ Monitor and evaluate treatment goals and outcomes

✅ Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning

✅ Train and coach direct support professionals on behavior support strategies

✅ Collaborate with psychological, psychiatric, and residential teams

✅ Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

✅ Provide ongoing support, consultation, and behavioral guidance across residential programs

What We're Looking For

Master's Degree in Applied Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field
Experience in behavioral assessment and intervention
Strong written communication and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
