Rehabilitation Aide, First Shift, Outpatient Therapy

The Rehabilitation Aide provides non-skilled assistance in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed physical therapist/occupational therapist/speech therapist/recreational therapist. This includes general cleanliness and maintenance of therapy equipment and treatment areas, and assistance with clerical duties as indicated.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
  • Cleans all equipment used daily during patient care, including weights, swiss balls, modalities and carts, assistive devices, nautilus machines and cardiovascular equipment. 
  • Performs general patient treatment and assistance as directed by the physical therapist/occupational therapist including stretching and strengthening exercises, wheelchair follow, gait, transfers and fabrication of adaptive equipment including leg straps and padding/completion of bi-valve casts. 
  • Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of supplies. 
  • Refills ultrasound gel bottles in patient treatment areas for easy accessibility during patient care. 
  • Follows direction of licensed therapist in the delivery of patient care, and reports patient reponse to treatment and patient/family questions to therapist for follow up. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:  

  • High School Education Required
  • Certified in CPR, Required
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills, Required
