Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) promotes patient flow in the clinical areas of the office by performing a variety of clinical support tasks under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor.Key Responsibilities
Patient-Centered Approach:
- Be compassionate, respectful, and friendly in all interactions whether in person or over the phone.
- Function as liaison between Patient and Provider to deliver excellent patient care and a positive patient experience
Visit Preparation
- Obtain and maintain complete and accurate medical records including primary, specialty, laboratory, procedural, and surgical records by utilizing various applications such as Healthelink, Infoclique, Quest, etc.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas by cleaning/turning over rooms, setting up equipment, and stocking supplies.

Properly set up rooms for office-based procedures

Escort patient to room, obtain vital signs, take medical history, and verify medications.

Prepare patients for exams.
Labs and Procedures

Collect and process laboratory specimens.

Assist providers with office-based procedures.
Communication
-
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other staff members .

Regularly monitor internal communication systems including but not limited to EHR and email.

Cover non-clinical tasks including answering the phone, scheduling appointments, etc., as needed.
Other
-
Complete forms and release of records requests.

Assist with supply inventory, stocking, and ordering as needed.

Adhere to PHI and HIPAA regulations

Communicate with clinical staff and physicians

Perform faxing, filing, and data entry.

Participate in regular continuing education and training to maintain skillset and knowledge within the field of OBGYN.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
Experience/Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience working in healthcare, preferably as an MA in an OBGYN outpatient setting

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to support patients with sensitivity and empathy

Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills

Able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while prioritizing patient-centered care

Proficiency with phone and computer systems including electronic health record (EHR)

Strong organizational skills and keen eye for detail

Ability to adapt to an ever-changing healthcare field
