Position: Accounting Associate

Reports to: CFO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date: 06/2026

OBJECTIVE: The Accounting Associate is responsible for performing clerical and administrative tasks to support the accounting team. Will be responsible for maintaining records, processing transactions and assisting with reporting. Will assist with administrative tasks by preparing invoices, updating ledgers, and entering data. Achieve organizational goals while upholding Turnip Trucks mission and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admin and accounting

Process accounts receivable

receive, enter, and balance deposits; verify accuracy and completeness;
prepare and submit deposits to bank;
enter data into computer systems;
generate related journal entries;
and prepare and maintain related reports and records.

Process accounts payable

receive and review invoices, purchasing card statements, or other documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization;
generate invoices for fuel usage;
enter data into computer systems; and generates related journal entries.

Manage basic office administrative tasks, including filing, printing, reporting and emailing
Answer, screen, and transfer inbound phone calls
Maintain electronic filing and record-keeping systems
Resolve administrative issues and inquiries
Coordinate and assist with POS inventory receiving to ensure accurate, timely accounts payable records
Reconcile vendor and cash accounts
Input sales and deposit information into the accounting system
Issue and oversee timely payments to vendors

QualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Associate degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred

Proven administrative experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Canva

Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP

Knowledge of basic bookkeeping functions & principles
Knowledge in operation of standard office equipment
Knowledge of principles & practices of basic office management
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
Aptitude for learning new software and systems

Experience developing internal processes
Outgoing, positive attitude, eager to support their co-workers
Strong desire to learn or grow their administrative abilities
High level of discretion & serious approach to confidentiality
