Job Title: Orthopaedic Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopaedic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist orthopaedic surgeons in the treatment of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of orthopaedic procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and application of casts, splints, and braces for patients.
  • Support orthopaedic surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Perform patient assessments and document relevant medical histories.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and rehabilitation processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient conditions to the medical team.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Orthopaedic Technician preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in orthopaedics, is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and orthopaedic procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and transport.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.
