Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, and we are seeking a Production Engineering Specialist – Mechanical to join our Sustaining Engineering team. In this role, you will work directly with assemblers, technicians, and engineers to support post-release engineering designs on the production floor. You will be responsible for resolving engineering errors, safety concerns, and quality issues, while partnering with the Mechanical Design Engineer to correct design, assembly, and process-related issues. Acting as the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing, you will provide valuable production-floor insight to the design engineering team. This position reports directly to the Sustaining Engineering Manager.

In this role you will get to:
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical engineering issues on the manufacturing floor (whether these require quick fixes or major collaboration efforts across multiple disciplines)
- Work with Mechanical Design Engineering to correct product design, safety, or quality issues.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing and installation of our products (enclosure weldments, fabrication, powder coating, screwing, riveting, etc.)
- Create and/or support ECO implementation for design corrections or continuous improvement.
- Interpreting mechanical drawing and technical documentation.
- Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action studies.
- Communicate with production team leaders regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues.
- Suggest improvements to operations, design, and manufacturing engineering.
- Coordinate process or engineering improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Support development and commercialization of innovative technology through prototyping, piloting, and ongoing commercial manufacture.
- Perform other mechanical engineering support duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role involving electrical products, as an area team leader, supervisor, engineering technician, or manufacturing support role within an industrial environment; Entry level Electrical Engineers with 1 year of industry experience to be considered.
- Tier-1 engineering contact residing in the manufacturing floor is required.
- Experience with mechanical component and assembly drawings, work instructions, schematics, and other specifications.
- Basic computer skills required: (Windows, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective communication skills at a technical level.
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- Experience with BOM structures and ERP systems.
- Hands-on aptitude with mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree is preferred.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work well in group problem-solving situations.
- Ability to use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
- Ensure that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments, modifications, and plans.
- Hands-on aptitude with mechanical and electrical equipment.
