About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to help guide and grow our global tax function, with a strong emphasis on international tax, statutory reporting, and indirect tax (VAT/GST). This role will work closely with the VP of Tax and the broader tax team to manage the company's non-U.S. tax footprint — including cross-border structuring, foreign statutory filings, and VAT compliance — while building scalable processes and managing risk across jurisdictions. This is a great opportunity for a collaborative tax leader with deep international expertise who enjoys partnering across teams on both the strategic and operational sides of a growing global tax function.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the VP of Tax to shape and execute the company's international tax strategy, including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, GILTI/Subpart F, cross-border structuring, and repatriation planning
  • Work closely with local country controllers, auditors, and advisors on statutory financial statement reporting for foreign entities, helping ensure accurate and timely local GAAP/IFRS statutory filings
  • Help manage global indirect tax compliance, including VAT/GST registrations, filings, and audits across international jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with the VP of Tax and cross-functional partners to develop and execute international tax planning strategies that support global expansion, minimize risk, and optimize the company's overall effective tax rate
  • Contribute to the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740) with a focus on foreign entities, including reserves (FIN 48/ASC 450) and coordination with external auditors
  • Help monitor changes in international and indirect tax law (e.g., BEPS Pillar Two, EU VAT reforms) and share the potential impact on the organization with leadership
  • Work with the team to improve tax technology and automation, including systems such as NetSuite and Avalara, to streamline global compliance and reporting workflows
  • Support tax audits and inquiries from foreign and domestic tax authorities
  • Support M&A due diligence, cross-border structuring, and post-acquisition integration from a tax perspective as needed
  • Mentor and collaborate with tax team members, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and FP&A on international tax and statutory matters affecting financial reporting and business decisions
  • Help maintain internal controls related to global tax processes

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's in Taxation, CPA, JD, or LLM a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, with substantial depth in international tax and global indirect tax (VAT/GST)
  • Hands-on experience managing statutory financial reporting for foreign subsidiaries and coordinating with local-country auditors and advisors
  • Strong technical knowledge of cross-border tax structuring, transfer pricing, and VAT/GST compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax concepts sufficient to oversee domestic compliance handled by advisors or team members
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Avalara strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex international tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders across regions
  • Strong project management skills and comfort operating in a remote, global, fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with partnership taxation, including allocations, Schedule K-1s, and partnership agreements
  • Experience with BEPS Pillar Two implementation and global minimum tax compliance
  • Experience in a private equity-backed, SaaS, or high-growth multinational environment
  • Prior experience managing or building out an international tax function from the ground up
