Position Overview

Trucent is seeking a Service Technician to support our continued growth and success throughout the Southeastern Indiana area.

The Service Technician will maintain and repair customer and Trucent owned equipment, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot separation equipment, and provide on-site technical and operational support. This position requires the ability to travel daily to various customer locations and work independently while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, safety, and equipment performance.

We are prepared to move quickly with qualified candidates. The hiring process will begin with a conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team, followed by an interview with the Hiring Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment while ensuring proper equipment operation and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Troubleshoot separation equipment and provide operational assistance as needed.
  • Provide customer service, technical support, training, and problem resolution.
  • Document equipment repairs, cleaning, preventative maintenance, calibrations, and other service activities using Trucent ERP systems.
  • Complete all required service documentation and paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all aspects of Trucent's safety program, including hazard communication, PPE requirements, and required safety training.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Comply with all customer facility safety policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Related industrial, mechanical, maintenance, or service experience preferred.
  • Training or experience in industrial maintenance and machine operation is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • General knowledge of the skilled trades, including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and strong attention to detail.
  • Basic familiarity with PCs, HMI, PLC, and DCS systems.
  • Ability to work independently or with general supervision and demonstrate initiative as a self-starter.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively at a basic level.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure.
  • Ability to understand and work from specifications, blueprints, manuals, mechanical drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • General understanding of analytical methods and the ability to apply logical principles to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to manage multiple variables and priorities in standardized work environments.

Travel Requirements

  • Daily travel to and from customer locations.
  • Overnight travel as required. Up to 50% of time.

Licenses, Certifications & Training

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with Trucent's Vehicle Policy.
  • Machine-specific training will be provided for applicable purification equipment, including:
    • Vertical disc-stack centrifuges
    • Solid bowl centrifuges
    • Wastewater treatment systems
  • Forklift certification is beneficial; Trucent will provide forklift training as needed.
