Position Overview

The Hot Stuff Lead plays a key role in the success of Tri-Energy Cooperative’s food service operations by leading the preparation and presentation of Hot Stuff menu items. This position is responsible for maintaining quality standards, ensuring food safety, monitoring and ordering inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. The Hot Stuff Lead supports the store team by performing cashier duties as needed and by setting a positive example of teamwork, efficiency, and professionalism.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve Hot Stuff menu items to company standards for quality, portion, and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, equipment, and display cases in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Rotate food items and monitor freshness, discarding or labeling items per policy to ensure product safety.
• Track and manage inventory levels; assist with ordering and receiving food and supply deliveries.
• Verify shipments for accuracy and assist in organizing and stocking inventory.
• Assist in training new employees in food handling, preparation, and customer service standards.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process sales transactions when serving as cashier.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including dining and retail areas.
• Follow all Tri-Energy Cooperative operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or needed to support store operations.

Physical Demands

• Continuously (66–100%) – Stand, use hands dexterously, talk or hear, and operate kitchen or register equipment.
• Frequently (34–65%) – Walk, bend, stoop, squat, or reach overhead; lift up to 15 pounds.
• Occasionally (1–33%) – Lift up to 50 pounds; climb or balance; work in varying temperature conditions.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and remain on feet for extended periods.

Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• One (1) year of experience in food preparation or customer service (preferred).
• Knowledge of standard food safety practices and sanitation procedures (preferred).
