The Nurse Supervisor provides clinical leadership and oversight for Trezevant Terrace (TT) during assigned hours. This position supports the Assisted Living Manager by supervising nursing staff, ensuring quality resident care, monitoring regulatory compliance, and promoting effective communication among residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. The Nurse Supervisor serves as a clinical resource and leader, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to organizations policies and procedures.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the day-to-day nursing operations of the Assisted Living community.
Provide clinical oversight during assigned shifts while supporting the Assisted Living Manager.
Ensure residents receive individualized care based on physicians’ orders, service plans, and resident needs.
Monitor residents for changes in condition and ensure timely assessment, intervention, physician notification, and family communication.
Assist with admissions, assessments, transfers, and discharges; May have to work as an LPN.
Participate in the development, implementation, and revision of resident service plans.
Conduct routine resident rounds to ensure quality of care and identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist with supervising, coaching, and mentoring nursing staff; Assist with orientation and training of new employees.
Assist with ongoing education and competency assessments; Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary; Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
Ensure that medications and treatments are administered safely and accurately according to physician orders and state regulations.
Review medication records for accuracy and completeness; Monitor medication storage, documentation, and controlled substance procedures.
Investigate and follow up on medication errors and provide corrective education as needed.
Build positive relationships with residents and their families; Address clinical concerns promptly and professionally.
Communicate resident status changes appropriately with families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Review clinical documentation; review incident and accident reports and complete follow-up investigations.
Complete audits assigned by the Assisted Living Manager.
Report for work on time, as scheduled.
Be knowledgeable of Trezevant’s Mission, vision and values.
Other duties as assigned/ required.
QualificationsQualifications
Must hold current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Tennessee or multi state license.
Minimum of 2 years Assisted Living and supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills; Possess ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Must be computer efficient and able to work effectively with Matrix care.
Must have a current CPR certification.
