People Operations Leader
Position Overview
A rapidly growing multi-state home healthcare organization is seeking an experienced People Operations Leader to lead and scale its people function across corporate, administrative, clinical, and field-based teams.
Reporting to executive leadership, this individual will oversee employee relations, people operations, HR compliance, payroll and benefits coordination, workforce planning, HR systems, performance management, and employee experience. This is a highly hands-on leadership role for someone who can build scalable people processes while remaining closely connected to employees and operational leaders across multiple locations. Regular travel to company locations is required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day people operations across a multi-state, multi-location organization.
Partner with executive and operational leadership on workforce planning, employee relations, retention, staffing, and organizational growth.
Oversee employee relations, investigations, performance management, policies, compliance, and complex employee matters.
Manage and improve payroll, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, HR systems, and employee record processes.
Build scalable onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and people operations programs.
Develop HR processes, reporting, policies, and infrastructure that create consistency across locations and support continued growth.
Support acquisitions, new locations, employee integrations, and organizational expansion initiatives.
Lead and develop the HR/People Operations team while promoting accountability, consistency, and a strong employee experience.
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, including leadership responsibility.
Experience supporting employees across multiple locations and/or states.
Strong background in employee relations, HR compliance, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, and people operations.
Experience supporting large, diverse, hourly, field-based, or high-volume workforces.
Healthcare, home healthcare, long-term care, or another regulated healthcare environment strongly preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership while remaining hands-on.
Demonstrated experience building or improving HR systems, processes, policies, and employee programs within a growing organization.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar certification is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
$150,000–$250,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time position based in Brooklyn, NY.
Regular travel to company locations required.
