Tomlinson is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our Materials Group as a Quarry Worker. This hands-on role supports the daily operation and maintenance of the crushing plant through equipment operation, general labour, housekeeping, and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and willing to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment while contributing to the efficient production of aggregate materials.

Vacancy Type: Replacement

Location: Various locations throughout the Ottawa area

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make sure crusher is in working order

• Operate Skid Steers

• Work quickly, efficiently and safely to fix problem when crusher shuts down

• Daily check of crusher, grease the Canica, change grease cartridges

• Clean the jaw and cone crushers

• Clean screens and hoods

• Clean around the crushing plant

• Measure, count and change screens

• Shovel under crusher

• Shovel Canica deck

• Clean tools

• Put scrap away

• Prepare tools and equipment for maintenance

• Perform maintenance on equipment when plant is shut down

• Miscellaneous jobs assigned by Quarry Foreman

• Operate rock truck and loader as required

 REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid G-Class driver's licence.
• Ability to perform physically demanding manual labour.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced quarry environment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous labour, construction, quarry, or heavy equipment experience is an asset but not required.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

• Noisy and dusty environment
• Rough (bumpy) driving conditions
• Typical work day is 10-12 hours with occasional weekend and night shift requirements

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected salary range for this position is $25.00- $30.00 per hour.  Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
