POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within an automotive stamping manufacturing environment. This role leads a team of multi-craft technicians to ensure equipment reliability, safe operation, and production uptime across stamping presses, assembly equipment, automation systems, support equipment, and facility infrastructure. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Tool & Die, and EHS to support operational goals, preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and automotive industry expectations, while maintaining a strong culture of accountability and technical excellence within the maintenance team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and manage day-to-day maintenance operations including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation support for stamping presses and related equipment.
• Develop, execute, and improve preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to ensure optimal equipment uptime and performance.
• Lead rapid response for critical equipment failures guiding maintenance technicians in root-cause analysis, corrective action, and repair.
• Own and drive maintenance KPIs — downtime, PM completion rate, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failure (MTBF), and spare-parts usage — and act on trends surfaced by real-time production/downtime tracking.
• Prioritize and assign work orders, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation in the CMMS (Plex) system.
• Coordinate maintenance support for production activities, die changes, tooling requirements, and major stamping operations.
• Provide leadership, coaching, development, and performance management for Maintenance Technicians across all shifts.
• Support troubleshooting of complex equipment issues and guide technicians in root-cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Collaborate with Tool & Die, Engineering, and Production to resolve stamping-related equipment issues and improve process stability. 
• Partner with the MRO crib — which manages spare-parts inventory — to keep critical spares and consumables on hand and manage external suppliers and service contractors. 
• Oversee maintenance support for new equipment installations, upgrades, automation integration, and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards including IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and corporate maintenance practices.
• Champion safety, including conducting incident investigations, enforcing LOTO/energy-control procedures, promoting electrical/arc-flash safety, and reinforcing safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM logs, work orders, downtime documentation, and equipment histories. • Develop and maintain maintenance standard work, procedures, and work instructions for technicians. • Assist in budgeting and managing maintenance-related costs including equipment repairs, spare parts, and contracted services. • Support facility maintenance including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, building repairs, safety systems, and grounds maintenance. • Owns scheduling, staffing, coaching, development, cross-training, and performance management for the maintenance team, and ensures maintenance coverage for multi-shift operations, including off-shift and weekend breakdown response. • Ability to take direction, accept coaching, and respond positively to leadership expectations. • Employee is responsible for ensuring all environmental practices are in line with job scope / position. Requirements

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). 
• 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
• Automotive stamping experience strongly preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and automation systems. 
• Experience with CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and maintenance planning. 
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards, safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements. 
• Experience supporting large-tonnage stamping presses and tooling is highly desirable. 

Qualifications – Preferred

• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms 
• Exposure to Siemens PLC systems 
• Transfer press commissioning experience 
• Robotics and automation experience
• Plex Maintenance module experience a plus
