OUTSIDE PARTS SALES PERSON

Purpose of Position:  Maximize sales volume by calling on and developing relationships with customers.

 

Supervises:  N/A

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Solicit parts business from assigned accounts through face to face and phone contact.
• Prospect for new customers and develop sales territory.  Maintain current customer relationships.
• Answer phone and take orders.  Communicate with customers regarding status of orders. 
• Assist customer in finding correct parts, pricing, and availability.
• Research parts requests and process orders and communicate to client information obtained.
• Advise customer of changes to orders in a timely manner.
• Other duties may be assigned as listed job duties are not comprehensive and should not be construed as such.  This job description is subject to change.

 

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Customer Service focused. 
• Able to work through multiple transactions and/ or interactions simultaneously.
• Oral and written communication to include simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to present information in a one-on-one or a group situation.
• Compute whole, fraction, and decimal numbers with a calculator.
• Compute rate, ratio, and percent and depict in graphs.
• Basic computer usage and navigation knowledge.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Education:

• Certificate from a two year college or vocational school.

 

Preferred Experience:

• 6 months Internal and/ or External Sales Experience or equivalent training

 

Other Preferred Qualifications:

• Driver’s License
• Clean MVR Record
