Technical Experts – Wind

Reporting To

Mission (Sources of Values)

To own wind technical strategy across onshore and offshore projects, ensuring robust resource assessment, turbine selection, and bankable performance assumptions for investments and transactions.

Accountability & Responsibility

•Lead wind resource and yield assessment strategy.
•Review wake modelling, uncertainty analysis, and availability assumptions.
•Guide turbine selection and performance optimisation strategies.
•Support offshore wind structural, metocean, and grid interface assessments.
•Provide technical risk input to valuation, financing, and contracts.
•Engage with OEMs and technology providers.
•Establish wind modelling standards and assumptions.

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy, Aerospace, Civil, or related discipline);
  • Master’s degree or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Professional engineering registration or recognised industry certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Malaysian citizenship
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in wind energy engineering, resource assessment, turbine technology, or project technical advisory roles, including utility-scale wind projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wind resource assessment, energy yield modelling, wake analysis, and uncertainty quantification using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
  • Proven experience supporting project development, technical due diligence, financing processes, or lender technical reviews for onshore and/or offshore wind projects.
  • Strong track record in turbine technology evaluation, OEM engagement, and performance optimization across project lifecycles.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams including development, engineering, grid, commercial, and asset management functions.
  • Familiarity with offshore wind technical considerations such as metocean assessments, structural interfaces, and grid connection requirements is an advantage.
