Accountability & Responsibility

  • Conduct comprehensive financial modelling and investment analysis for projects developments to support investment decision-making.
  • Evaluate project financial viability through key financial indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), payback period, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Support the development of business cases, investment proposals, and board papers required for project approvals and internal governance processes.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Project Development teams to assess the commercial structure, revenue assumptions, and financial feasibility of potential renewable energy opportunities.
  • Conduct due diligence activities for potential project acquisitions, partnerships, or joint ventures including financial, commercial, and operational assessments.
  • Analyze project cost estimates, capital expenditure requirements, and operational expenditure assumptions to ensure financial projections are realistic and aligned with market benchmarks.
  • Work closely with Finance teams to validate financial assumptions including financing structures, debt terms, tax implications, and funding strategies.
  • Support negotiations with project partners, investors, and financial institutions by providing financial insights and investment analysis.
  • Monitor the financial performance of approved projects against investment assumptions and highlight potential risks or deviations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for projects and ensure models are updated with current market data, regulatory changes, and operational assumptions.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities in emerging renewable energy technologies or new markets in alignment with TRe’s strategic expansion plans.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into contract structures and project agreements.
  • Support the preparation of project valuation reports and investment summaries for management review.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and investment conditions that may impact project economics.
  • Assist in the development of portfolio analysis to evaluate the performance and risk exposure of TRe’s renewable energy assets.
  • Provide financial insights during feasibility studies and project development phases to guide project structuring and investment decisions.
  • Ensure all investment evaluation processes comply with TNB Group governance frameworks and internal approval procedures.
  • Maintain documentation and financial records related to investment assessments to support transparency and audit requirements.
  • Support strategic planning exercises by providing financial insights into potential growth opportunities and investment priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to financial modelling tools, investment evaluation methodologies, and portfolio management processes.

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent fields.
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or Investment Management would be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, investment analysis, and project valuation techniques.
  • Knowledge of project finance structures and funding mechanisms for infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy project economics including capital cost structures, operational costs, and revenue models.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and commercial arrangements in the power and renewable energy sectors.

Certifications

Professional Finance Certificate
ACCA
CPA

Experience Requirements

  • Malaysian citizenship
  • Minimum 7–10 years of working experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, financial modelling, or project finance.
  • Experience in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, utilities, or investment-related sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in developing financial models and conducting investment evaluations for large-scale projects.
  • Experience supporting project financing, investment approvals, or infrastructure development initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including business development, finance, engineering, and legal departments.
