General Role Description

Develop application engineering solutions for the Power Electronics Systems Business Unit (BU)

Role Accountabilities

· Develop application-specific mechanical layouts and assemblies based on client requirements, engineering specifications, applicable industry standards, and electrical schematics in collaboration with the engineering team

· Develop technical proposals and quotes in collaboration with engineering teams

· Collaborate with engineering team to develop and evaluate product designs for specialized applications, including environmental and mechanical performance requirements

· Provide technical consultation to the sales team and clients by reviewing technical requirements, recommending product applications, developing technical proposals, and resolving technical inquiries throughout the project lifecycle

· Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned product lines in coordination with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in documentation and design workflows in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams

· Provide technical and costing information for the preparation of technical proposals, using client specifications and knowledge of Company solutions

· Create and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, application notes, and product literature

  • · Bachelor‘s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience
  • · 2 years’ related application engineering experience
  • · Demonstrated ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • · Demonstrated knowledge of industrial power electronics products and applicable industry standards, including UL, CE, NEMA, and IEEE
  • · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends to meet project deadlines
  • · Demonstrated familiarity with ISO 9000 documentation standards and document control procedures
  • · Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
  • · Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • · Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
  • · Proficiency in MS Office programs, ERP, CRM, AutoCAD, and Mechanical CAD
  • · Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 10%, sometimes with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications

· Demonstrated proficiency with Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) CAD software

· 4 years’ related application engineering experience
