The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting financial reporting, job cost accounting, and analysis to ensure accuracy, compliance, and business insight. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting project performance, and enabling data-driven decision-making. This role directly supports Titan Electric’s financial accuracy, project profitability, and operational decision-making across all business units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Support the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and delivering meaningful insights to support executive decision-making.
· Drive month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of close procedures.
· Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain the integrity of financial records.
· Own Work-in-Process (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition activities, ensuring accurate project performance measurement and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
· Serve as a business partner to operations and project management teams, providing financial guidance to ensure accurate job costing, project forecasting, and contract performance reporting.
· Analyze project financial results, including margins, labor productivity, cost trends, change orders, and profitability drivers, identifying risks and opportunities proactively.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval workflows, financial policies, and contract requirements, while identifying, investigating, and escalating financial risks or discrepancies.
· Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and maintaining strong documentation practices.
· Assist with tax compliance, regulatory filings, and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable regulations.
· Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, improve reporting accuracy, and support organizational growth.
· Partner with finance and operational leadership to support ERP optimization initiatives, system enhancements, data integrity, and reporting capabilities.
· Evaluate cash flow impacts associated with project execution, billing cycles, collections, retention, and working capital management.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline required.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility in financial reporting, analysis, and business partnership roles.
· Demonstrated ability to operate as a proactive, self-directed professional with strong business acumen, critical thinking skills, and a sense of urgency.
· Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred, including exposure to project accounting, job costing, and contract management.
· Experience managing Work-in-Process (WIP) schedules, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, progress billings, and project profitability analysis preferred.
· Strong understanding of cash flow management, working capital drivers, and the financial lifecycle of construction projects.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables, and complex reporting.
· Experience with construction-focused ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred.
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively partner with operations, project managers, and executive leadership.
· High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
COMPUTER SKILLS
· Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
· ERP/accounting systems experience
· Data analysis and reporting tools
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
