About this role

The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure the effective handling of all billing and collection functions, and to maximize the application of cash receipts through the adherence to established protocol and procedures.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, and contacting customers to obtain past due balances 

    Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, credit card and EFT transactions

    Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales and customers

    Protects company by keeping information confidential

    Sets up new accounts and verifies references from credit applications

    Assists customers in resolving issues related to invoices and statements

    Prepares and distributes invoices according to established procedure

    Processes credit memos and adjustments, as needed

    Maintains and updates customer files with issued invoices

    Ensures accuracy of billings in comparison to established sales agreements

    Serves as backup to the Supervisor of Accounts Receivable as needed

    Performs month end duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced coursework and/or degree in business or accounting preferred

    Two to three years of accounts receivable or related experience

    Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    This position works indoors in a temperature controlled environment.  It requires frequent sitting; and occasional walking, stooping and bending.  It infrequently requires the ability to lift a maximum of 20 lbs.

    This position is in an office environment with adequate lighting and low noise levels. 

    This position is full time which consists of a standard work week of 40 hours.  Overtime may be occasionally required based upon staffing levels and/or workload.
