Love skateboarding and enjoy working with kids?
THE SKATESIDE is looking for fun, dependable, and positive Youth Skateboarding Coaches to join our team and help kids learn to skate, build confidence, and have an amazing experience.
You do not need to be an advanced skateboarder. If you have solid basic skateboarding skills, are comfortable working with kids, and have a positive attitude, we can train you on our teaching methods and lesson structure.
The Schedule
Most of our school-year programs happen Monday–Friday between approximately 1:00–5:00 PM.
You choose the weekdays that work with your schedule.
Once you're assigned to a program, we'll count on you to consistently coach that same day each week for the session.
Additional hours may also be available through weekend programs, skate camps, private lessons, special events, and school programs.
Locations
We're currently hiring in:
- Culver City
- Santa Monica
Coaches may work in one or both areas based on their availability. Reliable transportation is required.
Pay & Opportunities
$23/hour + bonuses
- Additional $2/hour for qualifying childcare/child-development credentials
- Seasonal reliability and performance bonuses
- Opportunities for additional hours
- Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities
Who We're Looking For
You could be a great fit if you:
- Have basic skateboarding skills
- Enjoy working with kids
- Are positive, patient, and encouraging
- Are dependable and show up on time
- Feel comfortable leading a group
- Communicate well with parents and staff
- Have reliable transportation
- Want a fun, active part-time job
Experience working with children through camps, schools, recreation programs, sports, childcare, mentoring, or coaching is a big plus.
Child Safety
Because we work with children, all coaches must meet required background screening and child-safety requirements before working in our programs.
THE SKATESIDE will provide guidance on the required steps during the hiring process.
Already have experience working with children or completed Mandated Reporter Training? That's a plus!
