The Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for the day to day cleaning duties of the kitchen. The Steward/Dishwasher will strive to create the safest, cleanest, most sanitary and organized environment possible. They will execute their duties in an efficient and effective manner, assuring the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area, dish pit, waste disposal areas, storerooms and all food service related equipment through his/her daily work performance.
QualificationsJob Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds.
Execute the daily washing and sanitizing of china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans and food service equipment.
Maintain proper daily floor care as well as all trash, cardboard and grease removal.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and organized kitchen dish pit area and all service items within, keeping all equipment clean and in good, proper working condition.
Adheres to the Umstead safety policies and procedures, using personal protective equipment and immediately documenting and reporting injuries and/or incidents with management.
If/when working last shift of the day, properly breaking down the dish pit area.
Maintain a professional, clean and well-groomed appearance at all times.
Works with a positive attitude and speaks with others using clear and professional language, in line with our Vision and Values.
Performs other appropriate duties requested by the Sous Chefs and/or Executive Chef.
Attends departmental staff meetings as scheduled.
