About this role
Toledo Clinic's Gastroenterology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant or LPN to perform both administrative and clinical duties. This position will work Monday - Friday (9:00am- 6:00pm). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or eligible to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment or an active OH LPN license.
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary
Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties.
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
- Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
- Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
- Escorting patients to exam room.
- Preparing exam rooms.
- Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
- Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
- At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
- Administering injections.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Required:
- Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
- Completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA) or OH LPN license.
- Medicare Exclusion List.
Education:
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school or LPN.
Preferred:
- Clinical experience in a medical office.
