Position Summary:

The Supervisor, Study Operations leads day-to-day clinical research operations, ensuring study conduct aligns with START standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and high-quality patient care. This role provides direction and oversight to the Clinical Research Coordinator team and collaborates with Nursing, Data Coordination and Shared Services to support clinic operations, study activation, and quality activities. The role is also responsible for department processes, staff training, recruitment support, retention, and supervision within the assigned area.

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00am-5:00pm

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive leadership and day-to-day oversight to the Clinical Research Coordinator team to support quality patient care and achievement of site-specific performance expectations.
  • Train, coach, and assess staff competency for assigned job responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate study documentation and communication with monitors and auditors. Maintain compliance with GCP, applicable SOPs, and required training documentation.
  • Support study acquisition and activation in partnership with Shared Services, including participation in protocol review meetings and oversight of accurate site-level data collection and documentation in Veeva and other required systems.
  • Ensure efficient and compliant processes and systems are used to support patient care and clinical research workflows
  • Identify and implement practical process improvements that support patients, staff, and site operations.
  • Review incoming protocols for operational feasibility, with a focus on Clinical Research Coordinator workload, workflow, and site readiness.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory, Quality, Site Development, Pharmacy, Finance, and other support teams to promote compliant and effective study delivery
  • Support effective use of the CTMS, EHR, and other required systems to ensure accurate documentation and data capture within the assigned area.
  • Partner with site and department leaders to address operational issues and improve cross-functional workflows.
  • Other duties may be assigned at any time.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in health administration, nursing or other related field
  • CITI GCP training.
  • Knowledge of GCP and applicable federal clinical research regulations in the United States.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and clinical documentation systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in health administration, nursing or other related field
  • Minimum 5 years clinical research experience plus 2 years of leadership experience in an oncology clinical research setting.
  • Specialty certification in research or associated field
  • Demonstrative involvement in professional practice and industry advancement such as conference attendance, poster presentations, conference presenter/coordinator etc.
  • BLS certification.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 80% of time is spent sitting.
  • Very fast-paced and ever-changing healthcare environment.
  • Demanding deadlines and time frames.
  • Constant demand for updating knowledge.
  • Works closely with physicians and ancillary personnel in caring for and treating oncology/hematology patients.
