Greenhouse R&D Manager

SCOPE: The Greenhouse R&D Manager oversees innovation processes and idea development within the Field Greenhouse team, from facilitation and coaching to communications and partner research support. This role also serves as a key liaison, representing Seed Company's innovation efforts to Growth Partners and Bible Translation movement leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Enhance completion of Field Greenhouse team goals
  • Lead Greenhouse team meetings
  • Facilitate small groups in Design Thinking exercises focused on key issues
  • Manage staff-contributed ideas through the Innovation Lifecycle 
  • Contribute to periodic Field Greenhouse communications
• Support partner organizations’ research efforts through the Greenhouse R&D Unit
• Support the Field Technology team with leadership coaching and mentoring 
• Represent Seed Company with Bible Translation movement leaders and innovation efforts around tools and methods for Bible translation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• No supervision requirements.
• Lead small hybrid teams focused on short-term projects.

OTHER DUTIES: 

• Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain the required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
• Lead and/or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
• Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment within a highly collaborative, synergistic, high-paced team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds, lifting a box of paper, moving chairs, tables, and sliding doors.

TRAVEL:

Be available to travel domestically and internationally up to eight weeks per year.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God-honoring lifestyle.
• Passion for the Word of God and provision of the Word for every people group.
• Championing Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration, Theology, or a field related to Bible Translation, or equivalent experience is required. 
• 7 - 10 years of experience in Bible translation and technology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
