Job Information

Role Purpose

The Machine Operator I is responsible for performing advanced manufacturing operations related to metal processing and stripping processes. This role ensures products are processed accurately, safely, and in compliance with work order instructions and quality standards while supporting overall production flow and efficiency.

Scope & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions


Production Operations

  • Cut metal materials according to work order instructions
  • Clean metals using dip or conveyor processes
  • Perform operations within strip areas
  • Cut and bake metal and perform resist touch-up as required
  • Move products to the next operation with complete documentation, including travelers and in-process inspection sheets (signed and dated)


Quality & Process Control

  • Ensure all processes and procedures are followed prior to QA inspection
  • Verify products meet specifications through in-process checks
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of all production documentation


Chemical Handling & Maintenance

  • Clean and change production chemicals according to specifications and schedules
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals and operating equipment


Team Support & Collaboration

  • Assist other departments as needed after completing assigned priorities
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, accountability, and discipline within the production team


Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Follow all company safety policies, SOPs, and applicable regulations


Work Experience & Skills

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred


Experience:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred


Skills / Knowledge:

  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, process instructions, and technical documentation
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with production documentation
  • Experience working with chemical processes preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment
  • Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds
  • May require extended periods of standing or sitting
  • Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting
