Role Purpose
The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. This role helps ensure accurate financial records, timely transaction processing, regulatory compliance, and effective support for reporting and operational decision-making within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accounting duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions
- Enter, match, and process vendor invoices and purchase orders
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Process employee expense reimbursements
- Assist with customer invoicing and post customer payments
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collections follow-up
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support inventory accounting and production cost reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with audits and compliance reporting
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills
- Understanding of financial reporting and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica or similar)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP fundamentals
