Bavaria Medizin Technologie GmbH (BMT), part of Lubrizol, specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of innovative medical devices, including the first commercial drug-coated balloon. Located near Munich, Germany, with a facility in Sibiu, Romania, BMT offers comprehensive services from R&D to logistics management. They excel in catheter-based technologies and provide private label manufacturing, OEM, and contract services. BMT is dedicated to enhancing lives through cutting-edge medical solutions.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety. 

  • Develop and execute strategic plans that improve plant performance and deliver operational goals. 

  • Drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements while maintaining high product standards. 

  • Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, engagement, and organizational transformation. 

  • Identify and implement growth initiatives, including process improvements, cost reduction strategies, workforce optimization, and resource planning. 

 

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in plant management within the medical device industry. 

  • Progressive manufacturing or engineering leadership experience across production, engineering, and operations. 

  • Proven success leading plant turnarounds and delivering operational performance improvements. 

  • Experience leading large teams and driving employee engagement, capability building, and performance. 

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP systems, and manufacturing software. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. 

 

Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward 

  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline. 

  • Cross-cultural and international leadership experience. 

  • Experience succeeding within a matrix organization. 

 

Your Work Environment 

This role operates primarily within a manufacturing environment and includes production floor presence, leadership of plant operations, adherence to safety protocols, and regular use of digital business and manufacturing systems.
