About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at First Option, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards. You'll work closely with electrical, software, and project management teams to deliver reliable, high-quality mechanical solutions from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies based on project requirements
  • Conduct simulations, calculations, and testing to validate design performance, durability, and safety
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues across systems, equipment, or installations
  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant mechanical codes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and project management teams on integrated system designs
  • Support procurement and evaluation of mechanical components, equipment, and vendors
  • Oversee or support manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical systems
  • Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, design, or related technical roles
  • Proficiency in design/simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, CATIA, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical codes and safety standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, or local equivalents)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical design, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification or license (e.g., PE, or local equivalents)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, injection molding, welding, sheet metal fabrication)
  • Background in HVAC, industrial equipment, product design, or automation systems
  • Familiarity with project management processes and vendor coordination
