About this role
Job Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer | Reports to: CMTO | Location: Remote
Job Overview:
The Flowery (New York) is seeking a backend-leaning Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take ownership of our customer-facing e-commerce platform and the services that power it.
You will work across our Go services, third-party integrations, AWS infrastructure and React-based frontend. The ideal candidate is strongest in backend engineering but is comfortable building, reviewing and debugging modern frontend features.
This is not a pure frontend role. We need someone who can independently own production systems, integrations, deployments and incidents while collaborating closely with product and design.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Build and maintain production services written in Go
-
Own integrations with Dutchie, Algolia and other third-party platforms
-
Design reliable APIs, webhooks, background jobs and data-sync processes
-
Maintain accurate product, inventory, pricing, customer and order data across systems
-
Build and support modern frontend features using React and TypeScript
-
Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot applications on AWS
-
Improve performance, reliability, security and observability
-
Diagnose production issues across frontend, backend and infrastructure
-
Review code and help establish practical engineering standards
-
Collaborate directly with product, design, operations and external vendors
-
Support the technical direction of our web and future mobile applications
Qualifications:
-
7+ years of professional software-development experience
-
Strong hands-on experience building production backend systems
-
Production experience with Go, including APIs, services and concurrent processing
-
Experience designing integrations with complex external APIs
-
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication and data transformation
-
Hands-on experience with AWS, including several of the following:
-
ECS, EC2 or Lambda
-
CloudWatch
-
S3 and CloudFront
-
RDS
-
Secrets Manager and IAM
-
CI/CD pipelines and production deployments
-
Professional experience with React, TypeScript and modern frontend development
-
Strong SQL and relational-database knowledge
-
Experience with caching, asynchronous processing and failure recovery
-
Ability to independently investigate and resolve production incidents
-
Clear written and verbal communication
-
Strong product judgment and the ability to balance long-term architecture with practical delivery
We are looking for someone approximately:
-
60–70% backend, integrations and infrastructure
-
30–40% frontend and customer-facing product development
You do not need to be a visual designer, but you should be able to translate product designs into clean, responsive interfaces and maintain a modern React codebase.
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience with Algolia
-
Experience with Dutchie or other commerce, retail, inventory or point-of-sale APIs
-
Experience in regulated e-commerce
-
Experience with high-traffic transactional platforms
-
Experience with loyalty, payments, delivery or order-management systems
-
Experience with Next.js and Tailwind CSS
-
Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK
-
Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
-
Experience with React Native, Capacitor, Swift or Kotlin
-
Experience supporting iOS or Android releases, push notifications and app-store deployments
-
Experience using AI development tools while maintaining strong code-review and testing standards
Within your first few months, you will:
-
Understand the full flow between Dutchie, our Go services, Algolia and the customer experience
-
Independently deploy and monitor production changes
-
Resolve issues across integrations, APIs and frontend applications
-
Improve the reliability and observability of critical services
-
Deliver customer-facing features from backend implementation through frontend release
-
Reduce manual intervention and recurring integration failures
-
Become the primary technical owner of the platform
This role is not:
-
It is not a frontend-only position
-
It is not a DevOps-only position
-
It is not a management-only position
-
It is not suitable for someone who has only experimented with Go or AWS
We need a hands-on engineer who is comfortable owning code in production.
