The Senior Program Director (SPD) is responsible for supervising multiple program directors and overseeing all facets of these multiple programs including finances; staff development; program advocacy and compliance; and the overall strategic planning. The SPD builds key relationships with all significant stakeholders (internal & external) including funders; licensing agents; school and community leaders; participants and families; program directors and support staff; and other relevant individuals and entities critical to the successful running of programs, division, and/or agency.
Essential Functions:
- Provide consistent supervision, coaching and feedback to site leadership and teams.
- Oversee and continually strategize all operations of the program(s) to ensure the enrollment, participation, and program goals are achieved.
- Ensure the cost-effective delivery of high-quality services to the families served by the program(s) and the smooth operation of the program(s).
- Prepares for audits and meets with auditors from various regulatory agencies. Develops and implements response and/or change of policies/procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
- Meet performance expectations/metrics, as defined for the position within the assigned program.
- Communicate program aspects throughout the agency and oversee community engagement and outreach efforts.
- Design, secure, and/or facilitate professional development experiences including core divisional trainings. Help ensure skills are transferred to program operations and systems via consistent coaching, feedback, supervisory, and accountability efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages several Program Directors responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their respective Programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws. Deep understanding and knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) where applicable. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration or related field.
- Certification may be required.
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role, minimum of 2 years’ supervising staff.
- Demonstrated competence in youth development, supervision, training facilitation, and working knowledge of community program administration and planning.
- Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali and others, may be required depending on client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Education or Social Work with SIFI certification.
