Summary
GED Instructor needed to work in an Adolescent Skills Program with youth ages 16-21 years old. Adolescent Skills Centers (ASC) aim to assist youth with social emotional disturbances in making a successful transition to adulthood.
The GED Instructor/ Education Coordinator is responsible for teaching GED curriculum and the coordination of GED related services. Candidate must be able to instruct class in person and virtually. 

Essential Functions:

•    The GED Instructor assesses each student's individual educational needs and is responsible for administering TABE test and other assessments as needed.
•    Teaches GED prep classes and documents student progress on a monthly basis. Creates weekly lesson plans.
•    The coordination of transition plans, reviewing IEP’s, and maintaining student attendance records.
•    Schedules students to take the GED exam at official Test Centers approved by the New York State Education Department
•    The GED Instructor collaborates with local high schools and the NYS Department of Education 
•    Assist students with uploading documents for test accommodations on GED.com portal
•    Refers applicants to alternative GED programs if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications Required 

•    Bachelor’s Degree 
•    Minimum 1 year experience teaching and/or 2 years tutoring experience.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office software

Monday - Thursday ( 9:00am-3:00pm) Thursdays Remote
