The Content Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and assistance in several facets of the creation of curriculum; including resource acquisition, coaching, and instructional support.
This is a part-time role, working 7 hours a week.
Essential Functions:
- Provides guidance in development of curriculum.
- Assists in identifying and acquiring lesson resources.
- Aids staff in planning, writing and implementing high-quality, content-rich lessons.
- Observes and coaches Group Leaders and Activity Specialists in establishing best practices for facilitation and lesson plan development.
- Collaborates with Program Director and school administration to identify appropriate themes and objectives for educational content.
- Supports in professional development of staff to ensure program quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field.
- Minimum 1year supervisory experience
- Strong experience with curriculum planning for young people (middle school).
- Knowledge of youth development principles and theories.
- Knowledge of Common Core Standards.
- Experience coaching and training with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field.
