Position Overview
Reporting to the Head of Administration, the Receptionist serves as a key representative of The Butcher Shoppe, creating a welcoming and professional first impression for our customers, visitors, and business partners.
The Receptionist is responsible for managing the reception area, answering and directing incoming calls, greeting and assisting visitors, processing walk-in customer orders, and providing general administrative support to the TBS team.
This is a morning-shift position, with the standard work schedule being Monday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, visitors, and guests in a professional, warm, and friendly manner, both in person and by phone.
- Answer general inquiries and direct questions to the appropriate individual or department.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.
- Notify the appropriate company personnel upon the arrival of visitors and guests.
- Maintain up-to-date employee and department directories to ensure visitors and calls are directed appropriately.
- Maintain the reception area and common areas in a clean, organized, and presentable condition at all times.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Process walk-in customer orders accurately and efficiently and provide personalized recommendations for products that best suit their requirements
- Process customer orders accurately by entering them into the system and ensuring proper documentation.
- Engage with customers throughout the order process, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and data entry.
- Assist colleagues and the broader TBS team with administrative tasks and other duties as required.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and customer-focused environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Professional, personable, and approachable demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Comfortable operating standard office equipment, including multi-line phone systems, printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Previous experience in a receptionist, front-desk, customer service, or administrative role is considered a strong asset.
