The Surgical Technologist under direct supervision by a Registered Professional Nurse, surgeon, or other healthcare professional, serves as part of a medical team providing surgical care to patients, facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
High School Graduate or GED Successful completion of the Surgical Technologist Program One (1) to two (2) years of operating room work experience Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) * Hold and maintain a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
Incumbents to the position as of January 1, 2015: Provides evidence was employed as Surgical Technologist in healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one (1) year, occurring within the four (4) years immediately prior to January 1, 2015. Demonstrated ability to do arithmetic and communicate in oral or written English
