Position Overview

The Home Goods Combined Team Lead is the frontline execution lead for the store’s snacks and grocery areas, primarily responsible for merchandising, replenishment and recovery, expiration-date checks, price labels, promotional activities, promotional displays, stockroom organization, receiving support, area cleanliness, customer service, and team member coaching.


Under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Home Goods Team Leader leads or assists team members in completing daily tasks and ensures merchandise is neatly displayed, prices are accurate, replenishment is timely, the area is clean, and service standards are met.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Home Goods Area Merchandising & Shelf Management
    1. Manage product stocking, front-facing, categorized displays, shelf organization, and shelf fullness in the home goods areas.
    2. Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed and price labels and POP/promotional signage are accurate, clear, and current.
    3. Promptly correct and report out-of-stocks, misplaced merchandise, incorrect price labels, or disorganized displays to the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
  2. Product Replenishment, Recovery & Inventory Feedback
    1. Complete daily replenishment, recovery, FIFO rotation, and product put-away as required.
    2. Monitor fast-selling, out-of-stock, slow-moving, low-stock, and overstock situations; report promptly and assist with adjustments.
    3. Keep aisles clear during replenishment; merchandise must not be placed directly on the floor, dragged, or positioned in a way that obstructs customers.
  3. Price Labels, Promotions & Display Maintenance
    1. Check that price labels are complete, centered, legible, and correctly matched to products.
    2. Promptly remove or replace expired promotional, sale, POP, or display materials and restore the area as required.
    3. Support display adjustments for new products, promotions, and priority merchandise to improve the customer browsing and purchasing experience.
  4. Product Expiration & Near-Expiration Management
    1. Check expiration dates for snacks and applicable grocery products as required, with particular attention to near-expiration, expired, damaged packaging, and quality exceptions.
    2. Handle near-expiration products in advance according to Company requirements, including display adjustments, markdowns, or removal from sale.
    3. Immediately remove and report products presenting food-safety risks, including expired, spoiled, swollen, or moldy items.
  5. Stockroom & Receiving Support
    1. Maintain home goods stockroom standards, ensuring products are organized by category, aisles remain clear, and discarded cartons are properly sorted.
    2. Assist with receiving, sorting, stocking, organization, exception records, and new-product displays.
    3. Monitor long-term overstock, slow-moving, damaged, or abnormal inventory and report promptly.
  6. Customer Service & Product Recommendations
    1. Lead by example in proactively greeting customers with a smile and providing friendly service.
    2. Understand key products, new items, best sellers, and basic selling points in the area and provide basic product recommendations.
    3. Promptly escalate customer complaints, returns/exchanges, negative feedback, or issues that cannot be resolved.
  7. Team Member Coaching & On-site Execution Supervision
    1. Coach new team members in the area on product locations, replenishment standards, service language, and work processes.
    2. Assign tasks appropriately and supervise replenishment, recovery, cleanliness, price labels, stockroom organization, and related work.
    3. Promptly address and report team member issues involving discipline, service, execution, or teamwork.
  8. Work Records & Issue Reporting
    1. Participate in opening/closing meetings and communicate key area tasks, promotions, replenishment arrangements, and corrective actions.
    2. Complete or assist with work records, expiration records, receiving exception records, and corrective-action feedback on time.
    3. Assist the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager in analyzing recurring issues and driving corrective actions.


Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma / vocational secondary school or above.
  • Professional Experience: Experience in retail, supermarkets, convenience stores, beauty, collectible/toy retail, lifestyle retail, or service industries is preferred; candidates without experience may be trained.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Familiar with or willing to learn product merchandising, replenishment and recovery, price labels, expiration management, customer service, cleanliness, receiving organization, and basic work records.
  • Core Competencies: Strong execution and sense of responsibility, good customer-service and attention-to-detail mindset, and effective communication and teamwork skills.


Compensation

  • $21 per hour + quarterly performance bonus
