FastAPI Engineers: Technical Review of an Intermediate Microservices Exam

Remote solely

About this role

What We're Researching

We are running a paid study to evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of an intermediate-level assessment for software engineers. The focus of this assessment is on FastAPI microservices, asynchronous inter-service communication, and API gateway patterns. Your expert review ensures that the questions are unambiguous, the distractors are effective, and the code rubrics are technically sound.

How It Works

During this remote session, you will review a provided JSON file containing multiple-choice, short-answer, and code-based questions about FastAPI. You will audit the provided correct answers and distractor options for technical accuracy and clarity. For the coding questions, you will verify the prompts and grading rubrics, adding relevant edge-case test parameters where needed. Finally, you will provide a corrected version of the assessment data based on your expert evaluation.

Who This Is For

We are looking for backend software engineers with hands-on experience building microservices in Python. We welcome Python Developers, Backend Engineers, and API Architects who have deployed FastAPI applications in production environments. Familiarity with ASGI servers, dependency injection, and asynchronous client requests is highly relevant for this review.

What You'll Do

  • Audit multiple-choice options and correct answers for technical accuracy.

  • Identify and eliminate ambiguous distractor choices in the exam questions.

  • Verify the prompts and grading rubrics for code-based assessment items.

  • Add missing edge test cases to the code evaluation rubrics.

  • Submit a finalized, corrected JSON version of the exam paper.

Who Should Apply

  • Professional experience as a backend software engineer or Python developer

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying FastAPI microservices

  • Strong understanding of asynchronous Python and ASGI servers (like Uvicorn)

  • Comfortable reviewing and correcting JSON-formatted assessment data
