Experience: 3 to 8 Years

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Store Assistant to support material management and store operations for a large-scale industrial project in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The candidate will be responsible for inventory management, material receipt and issuance, documentation, stock monitoring, and ensuring efficient store operations at the project site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issues, transfers, and stock balances.
  • Coordinate with procurement, project, and logistics teams for timely receipt and dispatch of materials.
  • Verify materials received against purchase orders, delivery challans, and packing lists.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, excess stock, or slow-moving items.
  • Maintain stock registers, inward/outward records, and material tracking documentation.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory records.
  • Issue materials to site teams as per approved material requisitions.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the store area.
  • Track and maintain records of tools, equipment, consumables, and spare parts.
  • Assist in preparing inventory and material consumption reports.
  • Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and internal stakeholders regarding material movement.
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and store management procedures.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of storekeeping, inventory management, and material handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with stock registers, GRNs, material issue slips, and inventory documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and inventory management systems.
  • Understanding of industrial construction materials and consumables.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a site-based environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in industrial projects, mining projects, steel plants, beneficiation plants, power plants, or infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to project site store operations and material management.
  • Experience in handling construction materials, equipment, tools, and consumables.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar inventory management software will be an added advantage.
