Salary: $17.69 per hour

Tacoma-Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is looking for a dedicated Sales Associate to join our mission-driven team. As a Sales Associate, you will be a crucial part of our effort to provide affordable housing solutions to our community. Your role will involve assisting customers, delivering outstanding service, and supporting our sales objectives. Your friendly demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and product knowledge will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers and help drive the success of our organization's mission. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Driver in efficient pick-up schedules and routes for the Store Truck(s)
  • Interacting positively with donors and customers
  • Assisting with the retail operation, including operating the cash registers and making sales
  • Providing superior customer service to donors and customers
  • Adhering to All Store policies and procedures
  • Load and unload donation trucks

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years’ retail sales preferred
  • Retail experience with construction or building materials/hardware preferred
  • Routing/scheduling and/or logistics experience preferred

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of fair market value of new and used materials
  • Superior customer service, experience with diverse populations
  • Able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds, performing heavy manual tasks, work standing or walking for long periods of time and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the store
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling and the moving of items and furniture to maintain visual appearance of the store
  • Occasional ladder climbing
