We are seeking a Service Technician II (G2 Gas Technician / Gasfitter) to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario. Reporting to the District Manager, this role is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining residential and commercial propane and natural gas systems under 400,000 BTUs while upholding the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

What You'll Do
- Install, service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial propane and natural gas equipment.
- Perform repairs, dispenser inspections, propane cylinder requalification, and equipment testing.
- Install and service propane tanks, gas appliances, heating systems, and related fuel equipment.
- Provide preventative maintenance and scheduled service for residential and commercial customers.
- Safely operate crane trucks and other service vehicles for tank installations, relocations, and pickups.
- Maintain service truck inventory, ensuring tools, materials, and replacement parts are readily available.
- Complete service documentation and collect customer signatures, payments, and deposits using onboard technology.
- Apply lockout procedures for unsafe or non-compliant customer installations.
- Conduct and document vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections.
- Ensure compliance with CSA B149 Code, TSSA requirements, company policies, and industry safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Service Coordinator regarding scheduling, dispatching, and customer service priorities.
- Communicate customer, operational, or safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Support and mentor apprentice technicians as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while promoting company products and services.
- Identify opportunities for propane, natural gas, HVAC, and related equipment sales and service solutions.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- G2 Gas Technician License (minimum) with applicable provincial certifications and training records.
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a Gas Technician, Gasfitter, HVAC Technician, Propane Technician, Natural Gas Technician, or Service Technician.
- Advanced knowledge of propane appliances, natural gas equipment, fuel systems, and plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of CSA B149 Gas Code and applicable regulations.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract and minimum three years of commercial driving experience.
- WHMIS and TDG certification.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency using mobile technology, service software, and onboard truck computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification and related trade qualifications.
- Experience working with residential and commercial heating equipment.
- Experience training or mentoring apprentice technicians.
- Knowledge of propane delivery, tank systems, and gas appliance installations.
Salary: $30 - $34 hourly (based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography).
