Senior Analyst / AVP - Planning & Compliance | Global Financial Institutions Group, APAC

Primary Responsibilities

1. Planning, Reporting & Expense Management

•  Support monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting on business performance, profitability, and resource utilization.

•  Manage departmental expenses, including payment processing, reimbursements, budget forecasting, and variance analysis.

•  Support KPI setting, performance tracking, business planning, and pipeline consolidation.

•  Prepare management presentations, business reviews, and ad-hoc analyses for senior management.

•  Utilize Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency, automate routine tasks, improve data analysis capabilities, and drive process improvements across planning and administrative activities.

2. Compliance & Governance Support

•  Support the Department Business Control Officer (BCO) function in monitoring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.

•  Read, understand, and apply SMBC compliance policies in the conduct of business activities.

3. Administrative Coordination

•  Coordinate internal administrative matters including business travel, seat management, access requests, ID card applications, and staff onboarding support.

•  Ensure timely completion of administrative processes in accordance with internal procedures.

4. Ad-hoc Projects

•  Support strategic initiatives, process improvement projects, and special assignments directed by management.

•  Contribute to operational efficiency and business promotion activities across the department.

Skills & Competencies

Planning & Analytical Skills

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

•  Ability to prepare management reports, presentations, budgets, and business analyses.

•  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.

•  Strong interest in digitalization and AI-powered productivity tools, with the ability to leverage Microsoft Copilot and other AI solutions to improve operational efficiency and reporting quality.

Risk & Compliance

•  Basic understanding of banking regulations, risk management, and internal controls.

•  Ability to apply internal policies and governance standards in daily activities.

Teamwork & Communication

•  Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and overseas offices.

•  Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

•  Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Experience & Qualifications

•  Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration, or related disciplines.

•  At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.

•  Experience in planning, finance, business management, operations, compliance, or client service within a bank or financial institution.

•  Experience utilizing Microsoft Copilot, AI tools, data analytics, or automation solutions to improve business processes and reporting is an advantage.
