SIMCO provides engineering services and solutions to support management, durability, and long-term performance of civil infrastructure. SIMCO works with owners, operators, contractors, and engineering firms to help them extend the service life of structures while minimizing risk, managing lifecycle costs, meeting compliance requirements, and improving the performance and longevity of their assets. In the context of international growth, SIMCO is looking for an Engineer (Estimation) in Dubai.

Key Candidate Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Fundamental knowledge of estimation principles.
  • Basic knowledge of NDT’s and SDT’s methodologies
  • Familiarity with construction fieldwork, concrete repair, structural rehabilitation and strengthening, waterproofing, protective coatings, or infrastructure maintenance is an advantage.
  • Ability to perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications is desirable.
  • Understanding durability, condition assessment, or structural inspection services is desirable.
  • Estimation Skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Perform material, labor, and equipment quantity calculations.
  • Prepare cost estimates for engineering projects.
  • Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
  • Maintain estimation databases and cost records.
  • Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.

Software Skills:

  • MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PPoint, Outlook)
  • AutoCAD (reading and basic editing of drawings)
  • Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF software

Communication Skills:

  • Good written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Capable of preparing clear technical documentation.

Personal Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Willing to learn specialized durability, forensic engineering, and condition/structural assessment techniques.
  • Comfortable working both in the office and on project sites.
  • Able to work at heights, in construction or industrial environments, and travel to project locations when required.
  • Strong initiative, adaptability, and teamwork.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
