Position Overview:

Lake County is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team at Rimes Early Learning and Literacy Center, a unique public school serving exclusively PreK students. This position offers the opportunity to focus on early childhood communication, language development, and literacy skills while collaborating with an educational team.

Requirements:
ASHA certification
Florida SLP State Licensure or willing to obtain

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
