We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings. We are a therapist- and woman-owned and operated company.

Position Overview:

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers in St. Mary's County, Maryland. The SLP will assess and develop individualized family service plans while collaborating with families and other team members to best support each child's development. Therapy will be conducted in a child's home or community based setting. 

Schedule: Up to 21 hours per week, with 7-hour workdays.

 

Requirements:
SLP State MD Licensure or willing to obtain
ASHA Certification

Additional Details: Provide therapy to children ages 0-3 in a home-based setting as part of the Infants and Toddlers program in St. Mary's County.

Responsibilities

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify child's communication needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the child's team to create and implement strategies that support child's development.
  • Monitor and document child's progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and other team members  on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into their daily lives. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Education Plan (IFSP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • MD State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
