Truck Driver – Class B CDL

Looking for a driving position that gets you home every night? We are looking for an experienced Class B CDL Truck Driver to join our Transportation team.

This is a local/regional driving position with a Monday–Friday schedule and no overnight travel normally required. You’ll be responsible for safely delivering company products and materials to our customers while representing the company with professionalism and providing reliable, on-time service.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class B CDL, a good driving record, and 3+ years of commercial driving experience. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in safe driving, dependable service, and taking care of their equipment and loads.

SUMMARY:

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation and delivery of company products and materials while complying with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and company safety requirements.

This is primarily a local/regional driving position with no overnight travel normally required and a standard Monday–Friday schedule. Workdays, start times, and driving hours may vary based on delivery schedules and customer requirements and will be managed in accordance with applicable DOT Hours of Service requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely operate company commercial motor vehicles in accordance with all applicable federal, state, local, DOT, FMCSA, and company requirements.
Maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and all endorsements, medical qualifications, and other credentials required to operate assigned company vehicles.
Plan and efficiently manage daily routes and schedules to meet delivery times and customer appointments while remaining within applicable Hours of Service requirements.
Complete required driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, delivery documentation, bills of lading, and other transportation records accurately and timely.
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report safety, maintenance, or equipment concerns.
Verify that loads, quantities, and delivery documentation are accurate before departing company and customer locations.
Inspect and properly secure loads before departure and throughout transport in accordance with applicable load-securement requirements.
Apply, tighten, adjust, and remove straps and other load-securement equipment multiple times throughout the workday.
Safely load, unload, or assist with loading and unloading materials when required.
Safely operate in varying road, traffic, and weather conditions, including early morning, daytime, and evening hours.
Safely enter, exit, back, park, and maneuver commercial vehicles within customer facilities, loading areas, warehouses, yards, and other high-traffic environments.
Maintain appropriate communication with Transportation, Shipping, customers, and other departments regarding delivery status, delays, schedule changes, or other issues.
Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers, vendors, and other members of the public.
Collect and properly manage COD payments and related documentation when required.
Maintain assigned vehicles, trailers, and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
Comply with all company safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in company, customer, warehouse, yard, or loading areas.
Immediately report accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, citations, cargo damage, spills, or other safety-related incidents in accordance with company procedures.
Participate in required safety training, driver training, and other job-related training.
Maintain a driving record that meets company and applicable insurance requirements.
Must support the team in achieving all Safety, Production, Quality, and Customer Service goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
Good driving record that meets company and applicable insurance requirements.
Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
Local and/or regional commercial driving experience preferred.
Experience safely transporting and securing commercial loads preferred.
Knowledge of applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service requirements.
Ability to complete required driver logs, inspection reports, bills of lading, and other transportation documentation accurately and timely.
Ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Ability to safely maneuver commercial vehicles in loading areas, customer facilities, yards, and other high-traffic environments.
Strong commitment to safe driving practices and compliance with company safety requirements.
