Engineering/Operations Co-Op

The Engineering/Operations Co-Op will complete engineering and operations-related tasks in support of the development and production of instrument transformers and grid products at Standex Grid: Amran. The position will provide exposure to product design, testing processes, and the manufacturing environment while supporting the professional development of the Co-Op. Typical tasks will include providing engineering support for the Auredia Project, assisting with product design and testing, reviewing and updating engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs), collecting and analyzing test data, and supporting prototype builds and production implementation. Activities will also include troubleshooting product and manufacturing issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Will perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

•   Enrolled and working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field of study.
•   General interest in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, product development, process improvement, and Lean Manufacturing.
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
•    Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation.
•    Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
•    Familiarity with 2D and/or 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
•    Ability to understand and effectively communicate complex technical problems and situations.
•    Ability to learn and use ERP and manufacturing software.
•    Must be available to work 40 hours per week, on-site and in person.
