Position Summary

American Appliance Products, LLC is seeking a Senior Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineer to join our Newport, Tennessee team. This role is critical in driving the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, build-to-specification products that support our manufacturing operations.

We are looking for a hands-on engineering professional with a strong technical foundation and real-world experience in product and/or process engineering. This position offers a defined development pathway into a leadership role, making it an excellent opportunity for a mid-career engineer ready to grow into engineering management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring products meet customer and internal specifications
2. Apply hands-on experience in product and process engineering within a manufacturing environment
3. Partner with production teams to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain high quality standards
4. Provide leadership and direction to small teams of engineers and technical staff
5. Support troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and supply chain
7. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company goals

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
2. Strong foundational engineering background with demonstrated technical capability
3. Experience in product and/or process engineering (early career experience acceptable with strong hands-on exposure)
4. Demonstrated ability to lead projects or small teams
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining processes
2. Background in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
3. Proven ability to deliver engineered products built to specification
4. Experience mentoring or leading engineers in a team setting
