Axway Secure Transport Advanced Routing Engineer –Product Specialist 5 (Staff Augmentation)

Overview

We are seeking a candidate with hands-on Axway Secure Transport (ST) engineering experience with designing, building, and supporting Advanced Routing (AR) for managed file transfers (MFT). The ideal candidate is proficient with an Axway ST 5.5-2026x platform running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), ST MFT automation, enterprise security practices, and can operate in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment.

  • 5+ years administering Axway Secure Transport in production-
  • 5+ years Linux/RHEL system administration-
  • 3+ years designing/supporting Advanced Routing (policies, routes, partners, transfer sites, subscriptions, schedules)-
  • 3+ years Tier‑3 operational troubleshooting across ST protocols and routing decisions-
  • 3+ years enterprise security (SSH/PKI/PGP, TLS, certificates)

Preferred Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent technical study;
Relevant certifications (Linux/Security/Axway) a plus.


Knowledge

· Axway Secure Transport architecture, deployment, and administration on RHEL

· Secure Transport Advanced Routing concepts: route design, policy configuration, subscriptions, partner setup, rule evaluation, and SLA enforcement

· Secure transport protocols: SFTP/SSH, HTTPS/TLS, FTPS and message security (PGP/GPG)

· Enterprise networking fundamentals relevant to ST operations (load balancers, firewalls, NAT, DNS, IP subnets, routing)

· Identity & access management and role‑based access control for ST users and partners

· Observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace) and log analysis techniques for MFT platforms

· Certificate lifecycle management (CSRs, issuance, renewal, pinning) and trust store/key store administration

· Security hardening aligned to enterprise/CIS/NIST guidance and audit requirements

Skills

· Design and implement Advanced Routing flows that enforce partner‑specific policies and SLAs

· Tier‑3 troubleshooting across OS, network, and ST application layers; drive root‑cause analysis and remediation

· Develop lightweight scripts to support operations (log parsing, certificate validation, routing checks)

· Create and maintain partner/configuration objects (users, roles, routes, policies, certificates, keys)

· Produce clear technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for ST operations

· Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders; prioritize workload and meet deadlines

Abilities

Secure Transport – Advanced Routing

· Model and configure Advanced Routing decisions for complex partner ecosystems, including conditional logic and error‑handling behaviors

· Validate routing integrity, perform test transfers, and document routing controls and escalations

· Manage certificate/key rotation schedules and ensure alignment with enterprise policies

Technical Advisor

· Collaborate with application, security, and network teams to ensure secure, compliant data flows

· Advise stakeholders on routing impacts, partner onboarding standards, and security considerations

· Champion operational best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response within ST

Operational Quality

· Implement and tune monitoring/alerting for routing flows, partner failures, certificate expirations, and transfer health

· Author and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles for common operational scenarios

· Support audit/compliance activities and vulnerability remediation related to ST routing and partner configurations
